Ty Gorin Parmenter
Malden, MA
Parmenter studied dance at the Ecole Supérieure de Danse du Québec and National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada. He has attended a wide variety of festivals, participating in the Festival Ballet Providence, Würzburg Summer Festival, Germany and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Parmenter joined HS2 in July 2007.
Jason Hortin
Olympia, WA
Hortin graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a B.F.A. in dance under the direction of Louis Kavouras. Hortin has danced with Moving People Dance Theatre in Santa Fe, the Erick Hawkins Dance Company based in New York and River North Chicago Dance Company. He has performed at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland; the International Dance Festival in Kiel, Germany; Lincoln Center in New York City; and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Hortin joined HSDC as a Hubbard Street Dance Center Apprentice in August 2007.
Nefertiti Thomas
Washington D.C.
Thomas began her dance training at age 12 at the Orange School of Performing Arts in Virginia. She has participated in summer intensives at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Dance Theater of Harlem and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. Thomas received her B.F.A. in dance from Marymount Manhattan College under the direction of Katie Langan-Santee, where she performed choreography by Robert Battle, Hans von Manen, Jacqueline Buglisi, Twyla Tharp and Doug Varone. Thomas was a scholarship student at the Lou Conte Dance Studio before joining Hubbard Street 2 in August 2007.
Hogan McLaughlin
Chicago, IL
McLaughlin began his dance training at The Academy of Movement
and Music in Oak Park, Illinois. He has studied on scholarship at the Lou
Conte Dance Studio, the Boston Ballet and under Larry Long at the Ruth Page
Foundation. McLaughlin has performed with Lyric Opera of Chicago and joined
HS2 in January 2007, becoming a Hubbard Street Dance Center Apprentice in August 2008.
Stacey Aung
Anaheim, CA
Aung, a California native, studied dance at the West Coast School of the Arts, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and with Donald McKayle’s UCI Etude Ensemble. Graduating with a B.F.A. in dance performance from the University of California, Irvine, she has studied the techniques of Jirí Kylián, William Forsythe, George Balanchine, Martha Graham, Robert Moses and Jodie Gates. Aung joined HS2 in July 2007.
Jacqueline Burnett
Pocatello, ID
Burnett received her classical ballet training from Romanian Ballet Master Marius Zirra until his death in 2004 and then studied with Sergiu Brindusa and Beth Moore. Her training has included summer intensives with Ballet Idaho, Universal (Kirov) Ballet Academy, the Juilliard School and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance where she trained with Summer Lee Rhatigan and, under the tutelage of Thomas McManus and Glenn Edgerton, studied the repertoire of William Forsythe and Jirí Kylián. Burnett is a junior in the Ailey School/Fordham University B.F.A. program in New York City. A recipient of the Loyola Scholarship from Fordham, Burnett was selected by the Ailey School to participate in the 2007 Holland Dance Festival in The Hague, performing in works by Darrell Moultrie and Francesca Harper. She joined HSDC as a Hubbard Street Dance Center Apprentice in January 2008.
Ethan R. Kirschbaum
Oakland, CA
Kirschbaum began his training with Pamm Drake’s Dance/10 Performing Arts Center and continued under Reginald Ray-Savage and The San Francisco Ballet School. While studying at Castro Valley Performing Arts, he apprenticed with the Savage Jazz Dance Company for two years. He has attended summer programs at the San Francisco Ballet School and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet on scholarship as well as the Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive. He has performed works by Alonzo King, Princess Grace recipient Darrell Grand Moultrie and Nacho Duato and has danced with the Santa Fe Opera. Currently pursuing a degree from the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program in dance, Kirschbaum was a student dancer in Ailey’s Memoria alongside Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in its 2006 and 2007 New York City Center Seasons. He joined Hubbard Street 2 in January 2008.
Eduardo Zuñiga
Santiago, Chile
Zuñiga trained at Ballet de Santiago School prior to joining Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy, where he received the Peter Schaer Award in 2005. He has performed with Houston Ballet and Houston Ballet II; State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, California; Arie in Santiago, Chile; and Texas Ballet Theater, under the direction of Ben Stevenson. Zuniga has performed in Spare Parts, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Carmen, Inspirations of the Soul and Mozart Requiem. In 2006, he participated in the Regional Dance America Festival as an emerging choreographer, and most recently, he was invited by Marcia Haydee to perform in a celebration for John Cranko with Ballet de Santiago. Zuniga joined Hubbard Street 2 in January 2008.
